21 Days Of Baby-Toddler Summer Fun

Day 5: Outside Textures

It’s time to do what we do best in the summer, and have fun in the Sun. On Today’s edition of 21 Days of Baby-Toddler Summer Fun, were getting outside and we’re playing with nature.

Materials Needed:

Temperature permitted clothing

Today’s fun is brought to you by the many mystery’s of the beautiful outdoors.

It’s time to put that phone down, unless you’re using it for pictures, because we’re hanging out with our tiny tot’s. Stuff that left over baby jelly into a pair of high waisted leggings and get your sunglasses on because we’re heading out to explore the wonderful world of the outdoors.

Set Up

To set up for this activity, pack a bag full of the baby to-go essentials, shove in some goldfish and apple juice. Lather on the sunscreen, and don’t forget the shades and hat. You might want to put you tiny one in something disposable. Definitely not their Sunday clothes.

What To Expect

We’re going on an adventure to explore the wonders of the world. That’s right my friend. Grass, rocks, water puddles, mud, leaves, sticks, and so much more. We’re checking out all the different textures, and we’re touching them.

Your tiny bay-tod can get hands on experience from the wild outdoors, and you get some hardcore bonding time with your ever growing babe. Talk to them about the little bugs, play with them in the leaves, collect rocks, chase them in the grass, and lay down and look at the clouds. What ever you do, don’t stare directly at the sun.

Watch the chipmunks scurry across the ground. Laugh at the squirrels as they chase each other up trees, spin your baby around, throw them up into the sky, but don’t forget to catch them. Take thousands of pictures and blast them all over Instagram. Have a great day with your little one and soak up the sun.

Take It In

Someday’s are tough, and the hours melt together as we compile routines and check off to-do lists. We get caught up in the work and sometimes we forget about the play. The best parts of parenthood. The fun, even if they only last minutes before a meltdown. Soak up these moments, live in them and ignore the clock. Don’t worry about what you didn’t get done today. Laugh with your little, play with your tot, and enjoy the air as it surrounds you. You deserve this moment just as much as your baby does. You’re a great mom / dad.

Finishing Up

Now, pack up your shit and leave. Your kid needs a bath. Who’s idea was it to play in the mud. Now this shit is going to get all over the car seat. What in the actual frick? Who thought this was a great idea? How did your kid get grass stains in their ear. Good luck scrubbing that out while they scream and slap you across the face. So blessed!

I would love to hear how your Outdoor Textures day turned out. Drop your funny but realistic stories below in the comments.
